Frequently Asked Questions

Over the months, I've received many emails asking me the same questions. Though I love receiving emails, a fan suggested that I might want to put out a FAQ page to answer some of the most asked questions. So, here it is:

1.  What happens to the characters when Ginny leaves?

This is probably one of the most asked questions. I will give you two answers, and you can decide which you want to believe.

For myself, I think it just ends. Ginny is living out the plot of a romance novel. As with any book, when it ends, so do the characters. It is very flattering to me that people love the characters so much, get so involved in their lives, that they want to think that life goes on after the book ends, but the cynic in me says no. But, as I tell my husband, I'm the most unromantic person who writes romance novels.

Now, Ginny thinks that the characters go on and live their happily ever afters. It stands to reason, since she is the one who is personally involved with the characters. Can you imagine how destructive it would be to her psyche if she thought everyone she'd just had an extensive relationship with were dead?

In the end, it's whatever you want it to be.

2.  When is the next book coming out?

I have some of the most impatient fans! For which, I say thank you.

As I've mentioned, I self-publish my books. It is because I self-publish, I can put my books on different websites whenever I want. Many major publishers will wait an arbitrary amount of time before releasing a new book in a series. That would be why when a new book comes out, you can be completely lost because you can barely remember what happened in the last book. I don't like this and won't ever do it.

When I complete a book, I edit it and then my husband does his nerdy magic to format it. Once complete, we upload it to my website and the various sites I use to sell it. No wait, no fuss.

So, if you're asking when the next one will be released, chances are I'm still writing it.

3.  Will the series ever end?

Have you ever heard the term "jump the shark?" It refers to a Happy Days episode when Fonzi waterskis over a shark. Metaphorically, it means that a series has reached its end and should just give up already. That said, I won't let Ginny "jump the shark."

Ginny will return to her own body someday. As long as I have good ideas and enjoy writing the series, it will continue. It won't last forever, but as of right now, I don't know how long it will last. When the ideas stop coming, I won't write more just to make money. It will end and I will move on to something else. You can't believe how many crazy ideas I have floating around my noggin.

So yes, it will end and Ginny will get her happily ever after. I'm not that cruel!

4.  What happens to "so and so" from A Lesson in...?

If you're reading this, you probably know that I wrote a short story about Miles Clarendon from Forgiveness. There are many characters that I would like to revisit from my books. RJ from Patience is begging to have his story told, as is Lord Devon from Friendship. I have also said that I might even take Miles' story and make it into a full book.

I can't say when their stories will be told, only that they will someday. It is one of the things I like about romance novel series... if there was an intriguing character, the author will probably eventually write about their life. And I think I've had some very interesting characters!

If you have any other questions, please feel free to send me an email. If I don't know the answer, I can make something up... after all, I am an author of fiction!
